The weird box is an interactive interface that explores the boundary between the human body and the machine. It is a tactile project for multisensory design that asks users to piece together their own understanding through partial, embodied encounters, questioning how perception changes when vision is no longer the dominant sense.

By reducing vision and emphasizing touch and sound, it invites participants to engage with a hidden system through sensory experience rather than visual control. The interface takes the form of a clean, minimal box, whose simple exterior contrasts with the unexpected textures and audio responses concealed inside. As users move across the surface and place their hands into its openings, they encounter squishy, fluffy, moist, or bumpy materials, along with sounds that shift depending on where they touch. Through this process, the interaction creates a tension between the known and the unknown, encouraging curiosity, slight discomfort, and reflection.
